Masayoshi Sukita

is one of the greatest Japanese photographers. After graduating from the Japan Institute of Photography, Sukita began working as a professional photographer and by the end of the 1960s he had developed a great interest in subcultures, which led him to participate in the Woodstock Festival in 1969. In 1970, he became a freelance photographer and began to frequent New York assiduously, at the time pervaded by a new energy that flowed from his subculture, which mixed art, film and music and revolved around the figure of Andy Warhol. But it was above all London that had an impact on his career. It was in London that Sukita met and photographed Marc Bolan and the T-Rex, considered by many to be the founding fathers of glam rock.
